The Monument Quilt: A Community-Based Approach to Sexual and Domestic Violence

FORCE is pleased to release our policy report, The Monument Quilt: A Community-Based Approach to Sexual and Domestic Violence, written by Caleen Kufera, edited by the FORCE collective, and designed by Elizabeth Lueck, with support from Ariana Vilchis.

This report puts the Monument Quilt in a historic context, looking at the efforts of anti-rape and anti-violence activism, the limits of the criminal justice system in serving survivors, and our efforts through the Monument Quilt to highlight the intersections of sexual violence with colonialism and white supremacy.

From the report: “Victim-survivors are asking for intersectional community-based healing projects where they can voice their opinions and educate people on the trauma they face.”

As we vision into the future and dream about the next steps in our work, we hope that this report helps to give more context about who we are and where we are heading!
